Santander was the first main Smart City project in Europe. The City decided to install UVAX solution, thanks to its scalability, performance, flexibility and feature rich value proposition.
The project included upgrading to LED luminaires integrating a point-to-point remote control system, with a total of 350 streetlight cabinets and more than 23000 light points.
By implementing our system, Santander managed to transform its outdoor lighting network into a high-speed data network, which later has been used to add many other functionalities and services for the City, enabling it to become a real Smart City.
